Spring Break is 5 (Yes, 5!) weeks away. That means the Georgia Milestones are coming up FAST! We are geared up and working hard to fit everything in that will be on the test. Please encourage your child to get a good night sleep and be ready to learn EVERY day! These last few weeks before testing are going to be filled with a ton of learning and we need for them to be at their best.<br />

Here's what we're learning this week!<br />

Math- The Metric System! We're learning how to convert between the metric system only.<br />
Reading- We're discussing Story Elements and how they help with understanding a text.<br />
Social Studies and Writing-We're learning about how the Germans and Japanese showed aggression in
Europe and Asia.<br />
Science- We've started our unit on plant and animal cells.<br />

<span style="color: #990000;">Reading</span>- StoryWorks article, "The Evil Swirling Darkness". We are learning more about text evidence and how to answer questions that show text evidence.<br />
<span style="color: #990000;">Writing</span>- Mentor sentences from the book "Do Unto Otters". Mentor sentences are sentences that we introduce daily to the students. The sentences are written correctly and we discuss why they are written the way they are. At the end of the week, we quiz the students on those same sentences to see that they <span style="background-color: white;">learned </span> the material we covered.<br />
<span style="color: #990000;">Social Studies</span>- Civil War people and the major events that took place during the war.<br />
